Practice

Practice, practice, practice!
It’s so important to to practice with someone and receive real-time feedback.
You could practice with a trusted friend. But ideally, you’re going to practice with people who know what they’re talking about when it comes to interviewing. This is where Shift’s mentorship network is a fantastic example to use this resource.
LinkedIn has premium features where you can practice your interviewing skills and up-level your skills. Take advantage of these resources!
The more you practice, the more comfortable you’ll be with answering questions like: “So, tell me about yourself!”, and the better you’re going to do in the interview.
Think of a standup comedian. They’d have to get up there (on stage, spotlight on you, microphone loud-and-clear) and practice their material all the time to see what sticks, what resonates, what makes people laugh. It’s the exact same thing with an interview. You need to practice this material over and over.
💡Tip: Don’t wait until the night before. You want to start practicing and preparing as far out from transition as you can, or as far out from your job search.
